Conservatory Doors:

The choice of door for a conservatory is an important choice, if sometimes one which is overlooked. While conservatory doors need to provide comfortable access, they can also provide additional ventilation or carry a theme from the house into the conservatory.

The most popular design of door for a conservatory is a French door. A French door has many advantages: it can be used as a single door for easy access and when both doors are open provide easy access for furniture. Outward opening doors are a popular choice so there is no detriment to the floor space of the conservatory when the doors are open. Our experience has shown us that most of the time only one of the two doors is used so we always try and design the conservatory so the French doors are wide enough for one door to give comfortable access. We install all our French doors with handles on both doors for ease of use, all are fitted with heavy duty adjustable flag hinges and high security locking.

Single doors can also be fitted in a conservatory, these are often used as a secondary door to allow access from another elevation.

Tilt & Slide doors are extremely effective doors. When open the door slides behind a fixed panel allowing permanent access without a door leaf to consider. The great advantage a tilt & slide patio door has is when opened in the tilt position it becomes a large opening vent providing additional ventilation for the conservatory.

In-Line sliding doors are less popular on conservatories. This is because unlike tilt & slide patio doors the sliding door sits on a track permanently set behind the fixed panel. This means that the depth of the outer-frame is over twice the size of a normal window or door outer-frame, so when an in-line sliding door is fitted in a conservatory sidewall it often creates a reveal where the frame is bigger than the one it is joining up to.

By fitting flat panelling into the bottom section of a door it is possible to fit a cat-flap to allow access for pets if the conservatory covers the original access point.

Low Aluminium Threshold:
For easy access to a conservatory the doors can be fitted with a low level aluminium threshold, these are especially effective if there is a big step down from the conservatory finished floor level.

In-Line Patio Doors:
Our In-Line patio doors incorporate many different design innovations, they are available in 2, 3 or 4 panel permutations, with steel rollers and steel track for smooth and durable operation. Double brush seals around the frame and interlocks ensure that you are protected from the elements. Double glazed glass units help reduce external noise and keep the heat inside your home. Our patio doors are available in white, golden oak, rosewood and mahogany.
