Moulded Door Panels:
In recent years the most
popular choice of front door has been
a moulded in-fill panel. These panels
are two vacuumed formed external skins
with a reinforced core. They are an effective
way in creating a design tailored to you
home and they are thermally efficient.
We also use a lot of “half”
panels with various moulding designs to
suit other designs of doors such as half
glazed and crucifix design doors.
Door Panel Locks:
The biggest security problem
for double-glazing is moulded in-fill
door panels. Even with internally beaded
frames it is possible to break in through
the door panel. By hitting the panel with
a sledgehammer or heavy object such as
a breezeblock it is possible to “bounce”
the beads out of position and then the
panel will fall out internally. We have
the option to upgrade to door panel locks
with fix into the frame and “snap”
round the door panel. So even if the door
is hit and beads fall out the door panel
will be fixed in position. We have installed
these on commercial premises in Ilkeston
and the door panel locks were successful
in preventing a break in.
There are several
different designs with endless different
glass designs, all are available to match
the different frame colours and finishes,
here are just a few.
