Reinforcing:
Reinforcing
is one of the key areas of product specification
for a durable conservatory, window or
door frame. Deceuninck produce a fabrication
manual for all their fabricators to follow
as to how they believe the system should
be manufactured. It is the responsibility
of the fabricator to follow this guide
line.
Reinforcing is very much
a case of quality and quantity. We fully
reinforce using galvanised steel. This
means that every part of the frame has
been welded with a galvanised steel reinforcement
in place.
With any wood-grain finished
product it is especially important to
fully reinforce. The wood-grain finish
products do not reflect the heat as well
as the white finished products, so they
are more prone to distorting.
Reinforcing and
Security:
Reinforcing is often a section
that is over looked when it comes to security.
Most window and door systems are only
partially reinforced. All Lifestyle frames
come fully reinforced as standard. Apart
from structural befits there is also a
benefit to the performance of the locking
systems. When the locking systems are
fixed into position it is essential that
they are fixed into a galvanised steel
reinforcing section. This dramatically
improves the locking systems performance
under break-in conditions. It also makes
the UPVC less malleable so on larger opening
vents the plastic is much harder to try
and force apart.
