Window Styles:
Choosing your style of window
can be influenced by several different
things, a design to complement your home,
ventilation requirements, fire escape
requirements or an individual design with
some decorative glass to add your own
touch of flare.
With
various different styles of opening vent
and integral mullion and transom designs
that can be created there is a massive
range to choose from.
There are lots of options
available to create an individual design;
from different wood-grain finishes to
the many different decorative glass options
there are available.
Opening vents:
There are several types
of opening vent to choose from. These
different types of opening vent can be
used to complement a window design, provide
different levels of ventilation or more
importantly provide adequate fire escapes.
These different types of
opening vent can be fitted into any design
of window.
Top opening vents:
These are idea for providing effective
ventilation for bedrooms at night or a
ground floor room with out having a larger
vent open.
Large side / top
opening vents:
These operate the same way in which a
top opening vent does but can be made
much larger so are ideal for providing
adequate fire escapes for first floor
habitable rooms. These can also be fitted
with fire escape hinges (see fire escapes
on main men) and automatically locking
handles (see fire escapes on main menu)
to provide quick effective and secure
fire escapes. We recommend all first floor
habitable rooms are fitted with an adequate
fire escape.
Tilt & turn
opening vents:
A tilt and turn vent can be opened in
two positions, firstly the tilt position
which can provide adequate ventilation
for any room, and secondly it can be opened
fully from the side. These are very popular
for bathrooms and bedrooms as the one
vent provides both adequate ventilation
and means of escape.
